The best gym ever!

'Come on Branko hurry up, take the pic....yowzer'

In Culatra,  Fumi (girl) and I one day, ran/walked/skipped along the beach - Anne refused to be seen with us,  so kept a respectable  distance - laughing.   Thanks  Anne :-)

Anyways, once we reached La Linea Fumi wanted to work out each morning - so I dragged  myself out of bed while it was still dark and we ran around, pushed up and down, did sit -ups and punched at each other.   Fumi enjoyed it and every morning she  would be there  waiting, on time, waiting, for me to get  up.   We continued the work outs and once we  reached Almeriamar, made it a habit.

The gym we go to is excellent.   The scenery amazing.
And its...free :-)
We run, punch and kick our way down the boardwalk.   The Med on one side, mountains on the other and watch the sun rise each morning; greeting  it with "Namasate."

Paqui and Maribelle have joined our group and now there are four.   We laugh alot and communicate with sign language, Spanish, Japanese and English - None of us are fluent in all languages, so it makes for some interesting exercise moves, hence the laughing part.

Boxing moves - I think?

Paqui and Maribelle are spouses of Fumi (man) and Tony who manage the marina.  They are also teaching
us about food, Spanish culture, drinks and helping us with our Spanish - having a great time!  Wish you were all here.

Mag.

p.s.   Roger,  your # 1
p.s.s. Thank you Nadia,  for the intro to Jillian and waking up at 5:30am to work out with me; all, winter, long....in Toronto, man that was hard :-)

Wait, we are still here!

Beach,  Costa del Sol
Oh my,  but we have been remiss in our blog updates, very sorry to our two or three regular readers :-).    We are in Almeriamar,  and really enjoying ourselves.   After  18 months of (basically) travelling and thinking about the next sail/landfall/destination,  we are relaxing, mentally and somewhat physically.  Because we have the winter here in Spain and did hull/bottom work in  Florida we are  not  too stressed about our boat  work.  Or at least I'm not.  Yes, its me who is mentally relaxing and yes, I have been, relaxing for most of my life.  But,  enough about me,  lets get back to life in Spain.

Branko purchased a scooter (the ones you had when you were a kid, remember?) to travel about Almeriamar,  buying nuts or  bolts or silicone or basically just 'scooting' along staring at the tourists.   We  both enjoy the ride  and when out for a walk we bring it with us.  One  of us rides/coasts and the other pushes or vise versa - great exercise.  We  both wiped out the first time on;  Branko "off-roading" it down a step and me scooting along very slippery tiles - pretty funni.   All in all, useful and well, fun, young fun.

In southern Spain,  when you order a drink you also receive a tapas for each drink - wait for it...for FREE - and its palatable too!   Cerveza or wine for about 1.00 Euro and you get a plate of food for free...we're not talking a bowl of chips or nuts either.  So besides our drinking and eating we are enjoying the sunny, hot weather and beautiful scenery.   Beaches flank both sides (east and west) of the marina, with boardwalks, showers, cafe's and benches - it is so civilized, clean and comfy.

Sophie is also enjoying herself,  and often times staying away all day visiting the boats we are tied  up to - as yet she has not figured out how to get  on land but has commandeered 2 empty sailboats for her own.

We are  working on the boat too,  cleaning the stainless, scrubbing the teak, fixing something in the engine  area,  tightening something else under the stair, getting tools out and spreading them all over the boat and then putting them away again and lots of  sitting and staring at stuff.   No not me,  I am busy mentally relaxing.

Here are some pics of our life so far.      Mag.
